FROM FERTILITY TO ‘MATERNITY BLUES’: 100 DOCTORS FROM ALL OVER ITALY IN BASTIA UMBRA
Focus day on aspects of human reproduction Saturday 21st September organised and hosted by S&R Farmaceutici at the Minerva Auditorium
A training and focus day on reproduction, from the clinical problem to new aspects of treatment. On Saturday 21st September a hundred doctors from all over Italy will attend the Minerva Auditorium in Bastia Umbra, at the headquarters of S&R Farmaceutici, including gynaecologists, obstetricians, urologists and endocrinologists, on occasion of an event under the scientific direction of professor Sandro Gerli.
Guests will be welcomed by Mauro Dionigi and Lucio Leonardi, respectively the Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of S&R Farmaceutici spa. ‘Maternity Blues’ will be the topic of discussion, an emotional state of profound sadness and fatigue that affects mothers in the first few days after the birth of their child and which manifests itself with frequent mood swings, crying, anxiety attacks, persistent doubts and worries about the baby’s health and survival.
Dr. Alessandro Favilli will discuss the epidemiology and risk factors, Dr. Patrizia Moretti will illustrate the topic from a psychiatric point of view while Dr. Ludovico Muzii will discuss endometriosis and infertility. This first module will be moderated by Drs. Rocco Rago and Daniela Pietrangeli. Dr. Nadia will then discuss the microbiota in women, bacterial vaginosis and vaginitis, Dr. Daniela Pietrangeli will focus on the link between microbiota and infertility. Dr. Irene Giardina will discuss scientific findings in the field of microbiota during pregnancy.
The meeting will be chaired by Drs. Rocco Rago and Sandro Gerli. Recine and Giardina will chair the third module which will focus on “Spermatozoa in assisted reproduction’, curated by Rago, ‘Diet and seminal liquid’, by Dr. Elisabetta Costantini. Lastly, the key role of mitochondria in reproductive success will be discussed with Dr. Simone Palini and the use of Resveratrol as a new perspective for fertility, by Gerli.
